Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Lead Engineer Interior to be based in Fen End, UK.
The Role
You will be operating as a commodity owner, within the Interior Engineering Team, delivering some commodities to your respective programmes with the support of an agile multi skilled technical delivery team. You will contribute to the delivery of some or all modules (as applicable) including physical engineering, sourcing and delivery of components for vehicle programmes meeting all defined targets on cost, quality and time. You will operate as the single point of contact to the Programme team, as the INT engineering representative in Programme meetings.
Area of Responsibility
- Delivery of the Engineering targets specifically for quality, cost and time (including support for sourcing activities)
- Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and optimisation of module component costs, investment, vendor tooling and design and development
- Primary point of contact to the Programme team for your Programme/Commodity(s)
- Contribute to the overall project cadence and ensure transparent communication and escalation through:
- Driving the creation and update of Commodity Plan(s), EBERs and other standard JLR documentation for gateway progression
- Ensuring effective collaboration and communication via weekly status reporting and KPI management
- Monitoring tasks across the life cycle of the project
Knowledge / Experience
- Experience of delivery of physical commodities to Quality Cost and Time
- Comprehensive MS office (excel)
- Experience of delivering and developing Interior commodities
- Experience in a low volume engineering environment at an OEM or tier 1
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
