Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.

The Role:

As an ASW & BSW Engineer in the BMS Functional Integration team, you will focus on developing, integrating, and validating embedded software components that interface directly with hardware and control layers of advanced battery management systems. You'll be responsible for both high-level application logic and low-level basic software, ensuring robust delivery across SDU Controls, CSC modules, and WGM hardware platforms

Area of Responsibility

  • Software Development & Integration
  • Develop and integrate ASW control features specific to BMS functional requirements
  • Configure and implement BSW layers (e.g., OS, MCAL, communication stack) according to AUTOSAR or proprietary architectures
  • Ensure compliance and compatibility across hardware platforms (SDU, CSC, WGM)
  • Implement and validate diagnostics using UDS, OBD, and manufacturer-specific protocols
  • Configure and manage communication stacks (CAN, LIN, SPI) for real-time embedded control
  • Software Testing & Validation
  • Support unit testing, software-in-the-loop (SIL), and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation activities
  • Analyze software performance and resolve integration defects related to firmware and middleware interactions
  • Participate in fault injection, edge-case testing, and regression verification
  • Configuration & Documentation
  • Maintain software configuration (e.g. AUTOSAR parameters, ECU Extracts, XMLs) across versions
  • Collaborate on interface control documentation and integration guides for system-level implementation
  • Support release documentation for production readiness and safety compliance

Knowledge / Experience

· Experience in embedded ASW/BSW development for automotive or power electronics systems

· Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and software architecture tools

· Experience with AUTOSAR BSW stacks, MCAL integration, and configuration tools (e.g. DaVinci, EB Tresos)

· Working knowledge of SDU control architecture and CSC firmware interaction

Preferred Attributes

· Hands-on experience with ISO 26262 functional safety and software V-model lifecycle

· Familiarity with battery pack control strategies, cell balancing algorithms, and thermal management

· Understanding of cybersecurity principles for embedded platforms

· Strong debugging skills and familiarity with flashing tools and diagnostics (e.g., CANoe, Vector tools)
