The Role:
IT support Technician required to support hardware, applications and software at a manufacturing site. You will work in a team making sure that applications are running and ok to ensure the efficient running of the plant.
Note this role requires shift work. 40 hours Monday to Friday with three different shifts covering the 24 hours in a day. There will be an occasional requirement to work weekends.
Area of Responsibility
Provide first line support for both standard and non – standard devices
Liaise with TTL teams and customer maintenance teams to plan and carry out repairs
Fix bespoke software applications
Upgrade software carrying out the upgrade, informing user of any changes
Replace hardware of faulty both standard and non-standard like barcode scanners, printers, handheld devices and touch monitors
Assist with PC refresh activities
Liaise with Network Team for connectivity related issues
Floorwalking to support users
Knowledge / Experience
Experience of 1st line IT support
Ideally worked in a manufacturing/ production environment but not essential
Understanding of Microsoft applications/ software
Understanding of computer networks
Excellent communication skills
