Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers.
It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
Scope of Role
Define, develop and validate vehicle diagnostics and fault management solutions for electronic systems and software-controlled functions.
The role covers diagnostic strategy, fault detection and isolation, DTC definition, diagnostic services, serviceability and validation.
Area of Responsibility
Develop diagnostic concepts, strategies and system requirements.
Define DTCs, detection, confirmation, healing and debouncing behaviour.
Define UDS services, diagnostic sessions, routines and data identifiers.
Support fault isolation, service procedures and repair information.
Coordinate diagnostics across ECUs, networks and vehicle systems.
Review supplier diagnostic implementations and compliance evidence.
Plan diagnostic validation on bench, HIL and vehicle.
Analyse traces and lead root cause investigation of diagnostic issues.
Maintain diagnostic specifications, traceability and release status.
Knowledge / Experience
Essential:
Degree in electrical, electronic, automotive, software or systems engineering.
Automotive diagnostics development experience.
Strong knowledge of UDS ISO 14229 and DTC management.
Experience defining diagnostic requirements and validating ECU diagnostics.
Good CANoe analysis and fault investigation skills.
Desirable:
OBD and emissions diagnostics experience.
OTX, AUTOSAR DCM or service engineering knowledge.
Functional safety and cybersecurity awareness.
