Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Desing Engineer – Automotive Seating to be based at our customers site in Gaydon.Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.Scope of Role:The Design Engineer is responsible for generating CATIA V6 Body Engineering CAD concepts/ solutions for ongoing and new projects in Automative Seating domain.Dimension of Function:Engineering, Research and Development (ER&D) is a growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on projects and programmes for our clients.
This position will be working on projects within a specific function to provide design, support and coordination.Area of Responsibility:This position is responsible for creation of CAD geometry in support of projects culminating in FDJ. You will have responsibility for:Ensure data is up to date and reflects the required levels of maturity at any given point in timeProvide CAD support, leading and progressing the design in line with the program timescales and deliverable cadenceCoordinating and providing guidance to offshore design teams.Ensuring issues that cannot be resolved are escalated to Lead EngineerEnsuring that the PMST delivers its objectives and targets (technical and business)Identifying all risks to the programmeLiaison and coordination of offshore CAD resource.Communicating with all relevant stakeholders.Make decision based on the requirements of customer.Day to day customer coordination (Agile Framework)Knowledge / Experience:Essential:Automotive seating project development experienceAutomotive seating regulation and know how.Extensive experience in using CATIA V5 & V6Good all round design skills which must include Body Engineering (Trim, Cockpit, Structures, Seats, etc) functionSuccessful history of delivery within the automotive sector.Team Centre Engineering (TCE)Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levelsPC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etcDegree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.Competences:Customer Centricity Ensures the delivery of exceptional customer service.
