Tata Steel Colors are looking for a Semi-Skilled Engineering Team Member to be responsible for assisting Engineering maintenance personnel within the Central Engineering workshops.

What you will do:

  • Your primary role will comprise of roll grinding operations, for the service requirements to the Colorcoat and galvanising production units.
  • You will also be responsible for co-ordinating the logistics of engineering equipment and manufacturing plant items relevant to the Central Engineering Workshop service.
  • Health, Safety and Environmental performance adhering to the works IMS procedures and PPE instructions / procedures.
  • Undertake safe operations, which include manual handling, driving internal vehicles and assisting maintenance personnel.
  • Carry out timely deliveries within the Engineering function.
  • Assist with workshop logistics and operations.
  • Undertake audits and housekeeping duties.
  • Take an active role in CI, maintaining and improving safety and housekeeping standards within the Manufacturing Engineering Workshops.
  • Other duties will include painting, stock replenishment, moving manufacturing equipment to and from the production units.

Full training of the relevant workshop duties will be given to the successful applicant. The working pattern of this role is a 7 week rota including weekends.

What you will need:

  • It would be beneficial, but not essential, for you to have experience in a steel and construction related industry.
  • You must have good communication skills and possess the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • You will need good risk awareness when planning and undertaking tasks, and be able to challenge those who do not.
