Project Invictus is a megaproject – a large‑scale, complex venture that will cost over £1.5 billion and take years to develop and build safely. This project involves multiple stakeholders and will have a significant impact on the economy, the environment, and society. As we embark on the construction of the largest electric arc furnace in Europe, you’ll be part of a team that is driving engineering excellence. As the Lead Project Engineer, you will oversee and guide a Project Engineering team to achieve the goals and objectives of our Capital Programme. You will lead the execution of engineering projects within the company from concept, through project execution and onto final commissioning. An important part of your role is problem solving, addressing issues and where necessary reporting progress to various levels within the organisation. This includes planning, managing, and controlling ongoing engineering processes and activities, and coordinating with Engineering & Operations Managers and other key stakeholders to support project activities. Additionally, you will track and report key performance indicators for work progress and project performance. Managing budgets, coaching and motivating your team, and continuing improving project management and engineering processes are also essential aspects of your role.
What you will need
