We are looking for an experienced site manager to drive engineering standards, organisational development and asset performance to achieve competitive advantage.
Make a tangible impact
As the Engineering Manager you would be responsible for the engineering performance of all assets under your control, contributing towards improving and delivering asset availability annual plan targets and productivity levels.
You will be expected to work with the Operations management team across the Corby Site to ensure common standards, practices and sharing/learning opportunities are implemented.
The principal accountabilities for this role are:
- To hold responsibility for managing the engineering budget for the operational area and actively striving to improve the total cost maintenance and asset life cycle costs.
- To drive and embed the SAP Planned Maintenance Programme, ensuring both system and organisation capability to deliver improved engineering performance.
- To drive and implement improved engineering standards within the operational area of control, addressing physicals, systems and organisational effectiveness. Also, to develop and implement engineering projects, both capital and operational, that contribute towards achieving the business goals.
- Effective management of resource during major and minor plant shutdowns.
- Effective budgetary management within the area of your control
- Drive area KPI’s towards improvement, aiming to reduce downtime on site assets
- Drive the area safety standards, ensuring the companies polices are applied robustly.
- Ensure the team’s training is actively managed and applicable to roles within the team.
- Ensure adequate resource is available across all shifts to aid operational objectives.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that all engineering activities are conducted in accordance with Tata Steel Tubes Engineering Policy, Tata Steel Health and Safety Standards, statutory regulations and compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 requirements.
We see your potential
As part of this role you will be managing a team of circa 50 engineers across multiple level so experience managing a multi-disciplined team is essential.
IT proficiency is essential for this role preferably with experience in the application of MS Project.
We are also looking for someone who:
- Has knowledge of managing a Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP experience is advantageous).
- Has experience in managing an engineering budget.
- Has experience in planning and managing plant shutdowns in accordance with Health and Safety.
- Has excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal/management skills
- Has the ability to train and develop teams.
- Is preferably degree qualified in a relevant discipline, or equivalent by experience, with considerable management experience gained with an engineering and/or manufacturing environment.
