The Electrical Project Engineer provides Project Engineering support to all capital expenditure, process enhancement and plant improvement schemes in support of the Tata Colors manufacturing and Shotton site development business plans.
The Electrical Project Engineer role covers all of the engineering stages from the initial project concept to final implementation and handover.
The job holder will also provide Electrical Engineering project and design support to the Manufacturing Engineering and Site Services teams as required, subject to priorities.
What You'll Do
- Undertake design, development, procurement, installation and commissioning responsibilities, as part of the project procedures.
- Prepare detailed governance structure in line with Prince 2 project management principles, project plans and progress reports.
- Development of detailed electrical engineering requirements and specifications for plant / process improvements and enhancements with supporting risk assessments, management of change documentation, process safety considerations and hazard/operability considerations (HAZOP).
- Adhere to relevant sections of
Tata Engineering Standards, HSE guidance and Codes of Practice.
- Provide engineering and technology support to plant engineers and manufacturing teams.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge and awareness of engineering equipment developments and applications, specific to his/her job, and for the requirement of ongoing personal professional development.
- Liaise with Project and Engineering functions from other businesses within Colors or TATA Steel Europe as required.
- Production of Project reports, so all control information (scope/time/financial/risks) of projects are transparent to all the stakeholders.
- What You Will Have
- The jobholder must be educated to Degree or HND/HNC level as a minimum in an appropriate electrical engineering discipline.
- A Prince 2 qualification (or similar project management qualification) is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in the planning and implementation of capital projects, along with experience in the management and control of contract personnel is essential.
- A working knowledge of ISO 13849 Machinery Safety is desirable.
- A working knowledge of Functional Safety is desirable.
- A working knowledge of the application of the Construction Design and Management regulations is desirable.
- An appreciation of the SAP budgetary control, capital accounts and capital scheme authorisation procedures is desirable.
- Knowledge of City & Guilds 18 th
Edition Regs is desirable.
- Knowledge of Rockwell and Siemens PLCs, and DC and AC Drives is desirable.
- Knowledge of Instrumentation is desirable.
- Exceptional communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Able to work effectively at all levels in an organisation.
- Good problem solving and root cause identification skills.
- Strong analytic and decision making abilities.
- Ability to influence others and move towards a common goal or vision.
