What you will do:
The purpose of the Construction (Level 4) Scheduler is to develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules for the construction phase of projects, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery. This role involves coordinating with project managers and stakeholders to gather necessary information, monitor progress, identify potential delays, and implement schedule adjustments. By providing accurate and up-to-date scheduling data, the Construction Scheduler supports project management and performance through building accurate resource loaded schedules from engineering documents and estimates, effective planning, capacity levelling, critical path development, and decision-making within the project teams.
- Maintain and optimise Level 4 construction schedules aligned to the Level 3 integrated schedule.
- Monitor project progress, update schedules and resolve scheduling issues with stakeholders.
- Develop and finalise Level 4 commissioning schedules and integrate with the master schedule.
- Coordinate with project teams to gather information, update schedules and track milestones.
- Monitor site progress, identifying delays, risks and opportunities to improve delivery.
- Support contractor payment applications through validation against Level 4 schedules and contract rules.
- Implement schedule changes and manage communication through the project change control process.
- Analyse schedule performance and produce regular progress, trend and issue reports.
- Manage project timelines using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and other scheduling tools.
- Conduct site visits to validate progress, investigate issues and support mitigation actions.
- Provide scheduling insights and recommendations to construction, engineering and project teams.
- Work with project stakeholders to develop and implement recovery and mitigation plans.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, project controls and safety requirements.
What you will need:
- Btec, HND, NVQ or a degree in a STEM subject
- PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)
- APM MQ or PPQ Qualification or equivalent
- APM EVM Certification or equivalent
- APM PPC Practitioner Certification
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Project Planner or Scheduler
- Exposure to project planning in a multi discipline project environment
- Basic knowledge in the use of project planning tools.
- Experience of forecasting and delivering to a forecast effectively
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Forward thinking, with the ability to identify future problems before they arise
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer literacy
