We believe that our strength is not just in our steel but the diversity of our workforce. Our people make the difference.
Are you a data professional who wants their work to influence real business outcomes? The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) introduces strict emissions reporting requirements that will affect our ability to trade into EU markets. UK CBAM will impact our business in similar ways. Together, their impact on our business processes and commercial strategy is profound. We are seeking a Data Analyst to take ownership of CBAM-related emissions data tasks across Tata Steel UK.
What you will do
This is not a standard reporting role. The quality of your work will help protect the business from financial risk and ensure we remain eligible to export into Europe, as well as optimise our activities in the UK, under UK CBAM. You will be responsible for collecting, validating and reporting emissions data across multiple sites and systems. Working as part of a multifunctional team, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing complex data sets from across the organisation to generate customer reports to support their CBAM declarations
- Validating data to ensure it meets evolving EU and UK regulatory requirements
- Identifying data gaps and leading corrective actions
- Working with IT to improve traceability and automate data processes
- Supporting scenario modelling to understand financial and commercial impacts
You will also act as an internal subject matter expert on EU and UK CBAM data requirements and help educate colleagues where needed. The quality of your analysis will directly support customer confidence and regulatory compliance in 2027 and beyond.
What you will need
You will have strong analytical capability and experience managing large, complex datasets. You will bring:
- Advanced Excel skills and strong data validation experience
- Experience using BI or other analytics tools
- Experience of linking disparate datasets
- High attention to detail and a structured approach to quality control
- The ability to understand and apply technical regulatory requirements
- Confidence in explaining data clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Experience in sustainability reporting, emissions data, regulatory reporting or financial data environments, together with evidence of a customer-centric mindset, would be beneficial.
What we can offer you
Tata Steel UK offers their employees significant benefits packages. For this role, you will benefit from:
- A market competitive salary
- 35 days holidays per annum

- Bonus Scheme – subject to business performance
- Ongoing Tata Steel training, which has built a reputation as one of the best within the industry
- Private Healthcare Scheme (Individual cover)
- One of the UK’s leading defined contribution pension schemes (10% employer contribution / 6% employee contribution)
