We are looking for an experienced Operational Technology Engineer to manage and maintain the performance, security and integration of plant‑level Operational Technology (OT) systems. This is a hands‑on role supporting critical industrial control systems and working at the interface of IT and operational environments to ensure safe, reliable and resilient plant operation.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of OT systems including PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS and associated industrial networks.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of plant floor control systems while minimising downtime.
- Implement OT cybersecurity controls in line with corporate IT/OT security policies.
- Carry out risk assessments, vulnerability management and contribute to incident response planning.
- Work closely with IT teams to support secure IT/OT network convergence, including network segregation, firewalls and secure remote access.
- Manage OT vendors and third‑party service providers.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance and safety teams to align OT solutions with business needs.
- Lead or support OT‑related projects such as system upgrades, migrations and integrations.
- Supervise and mentor OT engineers, technicians or contractors where required.
- Develop and maintain OT procedures, training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Qualifications:
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) working with IT/OT systems in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands‑on experience with industrial control systems (ICS) including SCADA and PLCs (e.g. Rockwell, Siemens).
- Good understanding of industrial networking and protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus and OPC-UA.
- Knowledge of OT cybersecurity best practice and risk management.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work across technical and operational teams.
