Salary: £33,477 – £36,651 + Bonus
Working pattern: Days 8am – 4pm

If your answer is yes to these questions then join our Tata Steel Colors division in Shotton! You’ll be part of a global enterprise with a rich 50-year history in crafting pre-finished steel products.
Your role will involve working with machinery that’s integral to a wide range of industries, including home appliances, construction, and more.
What you will do
You will oversee the mechanical upkeep, overhaul, and repair of our crane equipment, ensuring high-level bay maintenance. Your hands-on approach will also extend to general production line maintenance during downtime.
Responsibilities:
- Uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in compliance with our IMS procedures and PPE guidelines.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on Overhead Travelling Cranes.
- Perform high-quality mechanical repairs based on existing schematics within set timelines.
- Contribute to the design and production of spare parts for cranes.
- Engage in the refurbishment of current machinery.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, enhancing safety and cleanliness within the Crane Maintenance Team.
- Perform additional duties in Workshops, auxiliary plants, and during downshifts as needed.
- Conduct Zone Safety audits and Risk assessments in accordance with our Safety Sub Plan.
What you will need
We\’re looking for an experienced fitter with a strong background in the steel or construction industry. An NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering would be a plus.
We\’re also looking for:
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong risk assessment skills and the confidence to speak up about safety.
