Are you an experienced High Voltage Engineer looking for an opportunity to make a real impact?
At Tata Steel, we’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to manage and maintain our high voltage infrastructure, ensuring reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement in our operations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical engineering background and a commitment to excellence in safety and performance.
What you will do
In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, inspection, and upgrading of high voltage electrical systems across the site. You’ll ensure compliance with safety regulations, optimise system performance, and work with operational teams to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting electrical issues, managing planned maintenance activities, and coordinating with contractors to deliver high-quality work. You’ll also play a key role in identifying and implementing improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
As part of your role, you’ll provide technical expertise to support capital projects, ensuring HV electrical systems are designed and maintained to the highest standards. You will manage a small HV team which includes a HV Engineer, HV Electrician & a number of specialist HV Support contractors. You\’ll also be responsible for delivering routine classroom training for EIS5 & EIS7 Tata HV Standards for all onsite Electrical Staff annually.
What you will need
We’re looking for an experienced electrical engineer with in-depth knowledge of high voltage systems, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices. You’ll need strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to managing risks.
A degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent experience) is essential, along with experience in managing HV infrastructure in a heavy industrial setting. The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively is also key to success in this role.
