Working as part of a multi-skilled shift team, we are looking for someone to carryout PPM activities alongside reactive maintenance activities in a busy manufacturing environment.
What you will do
The post holder will be expected to maintain maximum efficiency of machinery whilst maintaining the highest Health & Safety standards, ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance to the site maintenance procedures.
Other responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and carryout electrical maintenance activities across plant.
- Troubleshoot relay control circuits.
- Basic PLC fault finding on Siemens S7 300, 1200 and 1500 PLC’s.
- Ensure all engineering activities preventive, corrective, breakdown and shutdown maintenance are recorded in the correct manner using the site MMS.
- Ability to work with different types of drives.
- Experience working with AC and DC motors.
- Interpreting electrical drawings.
- Contribute to decreasing both the total life cycle cost of assets and the cost of maintenance.
- Ensure that all assets within the designated areas of responsibility are maintained to high engineering standards, which consistently contribute to achieving business objectives.
- Identify and implement plant area improvement activities that support the continuous improvement of plant availability, safety, the environment and asset performance.
- Comfortable working at height or on occasions in confined spaces.
What you will need
This role is for an electrician, to work in a heavy industrial environment working a shift pattern which consists of a week of days, a week of lates and a week of night shifts on a rotating basis Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will work in an engineering team comprising of both mechanical and electrical engineers.
The candidate should be either apprentice trained or have a recognised level 3 qualification such as a BTEC, C+G or NVQ Level 3.
We’re also keen to hear from individuals who have/are:
- Good team player, comfortable working alongside a group of multiskilled engineers, but who can also work independently when required to do so.
- 18thEdition qualified (preferred but not essential)
- Basic mechanical knowledge advantageous.
- Experience with low voltage electrical systems, drives and PLCs.
- Competent at fault-finding electrical systems and root cause failure analyses on electrical systems.
- Experience of working with computerised maintenance management systems (SAP PM experience would be advantageous)
- Basic computer literacy is essential.
