The main purpose of this job is to repair and maintain the overhead and jib cranes at the Corby site. You will be part of a two-person team, performing mechanical breakdown support, planned maintenance and inspections across the site; predominantly focusing on engineering support to the crane operations. This position operates on a 15 shifts (Monday – Friday) pattern of work and therefore attracts a 15% shift allowance.

To be successful in this role you will need to have served a practical mechanical apprenticeship to a minimum of City and Guilds level or have a proven track record of practical fitting skills. It would be advantageous if you have previous experience with FLT’s, MEWP’s and Overhead Cranes. You will also need:

  • A good awareness of health and safety, isolation/immobilisation and good housekeeping.
  • A good knowledge of general mechanical fitting, with practical experience in bearing assemblies, limits and fits.
  • Good communication skills for effective communication with the operations and engineering teams.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • Be self-motivated and have the ability to work under your own initiative.
  • May be required to provide support to other site engineering departments where required.
