The Role
We are seeking highly motivated Power System Graduate Engineers with a master’s degree or Ph D in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline to support projects involving SCADA, Energy Management Systems (EMS), Network Modelling, Power System Analysis, and Grid Operations, Electricity Balancing etc
This role provides an excellent opportunity to work with experienced industry specialists on transmission and distribution network projects, contributing to the development and maintenance of power system models, operational applications, and advanced analytical studies used by utilities and system operators.
The successful candidate will develop knowledge and practical experience across network modelling, state estimation, load flow analysis, contingency analysis, SCADA data management, and utility operational technologies.
Specific responsibilities include (but not limited to)
- Support the development, maintenance, and validation of electrical network models used in EMS and power system applications.
- Assist in modelling transmission and distribution network assets, including: Substations, Transformers, Transmission Lines, Generators, Circuit Breakers and Disconnectors, Reactive Compensation Equipment, HVDC Systems.
- Support SCADA and EMS data integration activities, including telemetry mapping and data quality assessments.
- Assist with network topology validation and connectivity analysis.
- Participate in power system studies such as: Load Flow Analysis, Stability Assessments.
- Analyse engineering data and identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and model quality issues.
- Support commissioning activities, network changes, and model updates.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, planning, and IT teams.
- Contribute to technical documentation, procedures, and model governance activities.
- Support automation and data analytics initiatives using engineering tools and scripting technologies.
Your Profile

• Strong understanding of power system fundamentals, including
- Power Generation
- Transmission & Distribution Systems
- Power Flow Analysis
- Protection & Control
- Power System Stability
• Knowledge of power system analysis tools such as
- DIg SILENT Power Factory
- PSCAD
- ETAP
- MATLAB/Simulink
- Understanding of SCADA, EMS, DMS, or utility operational technologies.
- Programming and analytical skills using Python, MATLAB, SQL, or similar tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Research experience in areas such as
- Power System Operation
- Renewable Integration
- Power System Stability
- AI/ML Applications in Power Systems
- Knowledge of IEC standards, CIM (IEC 61970/61968), or utility data models.
- Exposure to utility, TSO, DSO, ISO, or control centre environments.
- Experience working with large engineering datasets and modelling tools.
- Understanding of cloud, data analytics, or digital engineering concepts.
