The Role
As an Engineering Systems SME, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining engineering systems within a 24x7 operational environment. You will ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of MRO and engineering applications, while working closely with stakeholders across business and technology teams. You will play a key role in delivering production support, driving service improvements, and ensuring alignment with operational standards and service level expectations.
Your responsibilities:
- Support 24x7 operations of engineering systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Deliver production support in line with defined service levels and KPIs.
- Align closely with Engineering System and Application Support Managers.
- Manage incidents, service requests, and operational activities across engineering systems.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and drive implementation of best practices.
- Maintain operational excellence through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimisation.
- Provide on-call support on a rota basis to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Work flexibly to support global operations and business requirements.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Strong expertise in Engineering MRO systems, including platforms such as Trax.
- Proven airline experience with a solid understanding of engineering systems applications.
- Hands-on experience with Airbus and Boeing system administration.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and experience delivering BAU support, including on-call responsibilities.
- Understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and service management processes.
- Experience in Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Request Management.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability in managing operational responsibilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across business and technology teams.
- Strong organisational skills with experience working in fast-paced environments.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
- Airline domain expertise in aircraft engineering and maintenance.
- Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical engineering systems.
- Exposure to 24x7 operations and global support delivery models.
