Senior Product Designer

The role

Our Senior Product Designers create intuitive, accessible and engaging digital products that solve real user needs and deliver measurable business value.

Working closely with Lead Designers, Product Managers, Strategists and Technologists, you will shape end-to-end product experiences across a broad range of digital products and services.

You will bring strong product design capability with a particular depth in UX, using research, insight, systems thinking and experimentation to understand customer needs, identify opportunities and turn complex challenges into clear, effective solutions.

As a senior member of the team, you will influence product direction, support client engagement and maintain a consistently high standard of design delivery.

You will champion user-centred product design, balancing user needs, business goals and technical constraints.

You will help teams frame the right problems, validate ideas and deliver cohesive experiences across web, mobile and emerging digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own product design activities across the full lifecycle, from discovery and problem definition through to concept development, testing, delivery and iteration.
  • Plan, conduct and synthesise user research, stakeholder interviews, workshops and usability testing to uncover needs, behaviours and opportunities.
  • Translate user insight, product strategy, business objectives and technical requirements into clear product and experience design solutions.
  • Create user journeys, information architectures, task flows, wireframes, interaction models and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Design intuitive, accessible and user-centred experiences across web, mobile and connected digital products.
  • Partner closely with product managers, strategists, researchers, designers and engineers to define product outcomes, prioritise opportunities and deliver effective solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops, co-creation sessions and design thinking activities with clients, users and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Use qualitative research, product analytics and behavioural data to inform design decisions, test hypotheses and evaluate outcomes.
  • Present product concepts, research findings, design rationale and recommendations confidently to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Champion accessibility, inclusive design and usability throughout the product development process.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams during delivery, providing clear specifications, reviewing implementation and protecting design intent.
  • Contribute to the evolution of design systems, reusable patterns and product design standards to improve consistency and delivery efficiency.
  • Mentor junior designers, provide constructive critique and contribute to the ongoing improvement of product design practice.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Senior Product Designer, Senior UX Designer or similar role within an agency, consultancy or digital product environment.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design expertise, with particular depth in user research, interaction design, information architecture and prototyping.
  • Excellent understanding of user-centred design, product discovery and iterative design methodologies.
  • Experience planning, conducting and synthesising user research and usability testing, then translating findings into product decisions.
  • Strong ability to create user journeys, workflows, wireframes, interaction patterns and high-fidelity interactive prototypes.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, including experience working with design systems.
  • Ability to simplify complex user, business and technical requirements into coherent, intuitive product experiences.
  • Strong communication, workshop facilitation, design critique and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary product teams and collaborating closely with product management, research and engineering.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards, inclusive design practices and responsive design.

Desirable

  • Experience designing large-scale digital products, enterprise platforms or services within complex transformation programmes.
  • Knowledge of service design methods and the ability to connect detailed product interactions to the wider end-to-end customer journey.
  • Experience working in agile product development environments and contributing to product discovery, prioritisation and iterative delivery.
  • Experience using product analytics, behavioural data and experimentation to measure performance and improve experiences.
  • Interest in emerging technologies, AI-powered products and responsible approaches to designing evolving digital experiences.
