The Role
As an
SAP MM Consultant , you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining Materials Management processes within a SAP ECC environment.
You will ensure smooth day-to-day operations across procurement, inventory, and vendor management processes, while providing support, troubleshooting, and minor enhancements in a live production environment.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to maintain system integrity, improve operational efficiency, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards as part of a broader SAP transformation roadmap.
- Your responsibilities
- Support and maintain SAP MM processes, including procurement, inventory management, and vendor‑related operations.
- Configure and manage Procure-to-Pay processes, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt, and invoice verification.
- Handle production support activities, including incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Manage master data, including material master and vendor master data, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Support system enhancements, configuration updates, and continuous process improvements.
- Ensure integration with SAP FI and logistics modules for end‑to‑end process alignment.
- Collaborate with business users to resolve issues and improve system usability.
- Monitor system performance and ensure stability within the production environment.
- Maintain documentation, including configuration, process flows, and support records.
- Ensure compliance with governance, standards, and best practices.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience
- Strong experience in SAP MM (ECC), including configuration and support.
- End-to-end understanding of Procure-to-Pay processes.
- Hands‑on experience in purchasing processes, including PR, PO, contracts, and scheduling agreements.
- Experience in inventory management, including stock movements and valuation.
- Strong knowledge of master data management, including material and vendor master data.
- Experience with integration between MM and FI modules, including invoice verification and GR/IR processes.
- Experience in production support, incident management, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to manage system enhancements and configuration changes.
- Knowledge of pricing procedures, release strategies, and account determination.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams such as FI, SD, and WM.
- Experience with warehouse management processes (WM or basic EWM exposure).
- Knowledge of batch management, serial number tracking, and inventory optimisation.
- Experience with data migration tools such as LSMW.
- Basic understanding of integration technologies such as IDocs and ALE.
- Experience with SAP reporting and analytics tools.
- Exposure to enhancements or user exits in collaboration with ABAP teams.
- Experience in retail or high‑volume transaction environments.
- Knowledge of taxation processes such as GST or regional equivalents.
- Exposure to ECC to S/4HANA transition or brownfield implementation programmes.
- SAP MM certification is advantageous.
