The Role: As an SAP Principal Functional Consultant you will be responsible for leading the functional stream for the smooth execution of the solution functioning along with the support for the future enhancements and projects. This is a client facing role. You will ensure to define, drive, supervise and implement functional standards, systems and processes as required. This will include understanding the existing designs and suggesting the process and technological improvements and value additions. You should also act as a key point of contact between the business users and BAU operations team in terms of functional and architectural conversations wherever required.
Your Responsibilities:
- Identify and report any risks and technical gaps observed within the solution or system with the right stakeholders.
- Run a Functional Risk review, mitigation plan presentation and follow up.
- Identify and address recurring issues via BAU or escalate as enhancement projects to drive added value and revenue.
- Work along with client architect to co-ordinate and convince SAP TQM for standard SAP roadmap and push for key requirements to be incorporated in future upgrade from SAP.
- Eliminating and seeing through any functional glitches and bottlenecks in terms of solution planning and delivery.
- Review the changes from functional scope perspective and guide team to complete those as per the best practices.
- Work along with leads for sign off from functional criteria perspective for Hypercare entry into Secondary and Hypercare Primary support readiness and Hypercare exit i.e. BAU entry from technical readiness perspective.
- Reviewing the Technical changes and ensuring that they follow the standards and do not impact on the existing design or solution.
- Monitoring and highlighting any competency gaps observed within the teams.
- Be part of the Governance cadence with the Product Owners, Business Users & Program Teams and the BAU operational cadence.
- Work closely with the Service Delivery Management (Project Management) and client architecture team to effectively communicate and close the gaps.
- Be part of the solution design discussions (new and existing) along with BAU operations team and Business Users or Product Owners.
- Work closely with the BAU team, vendors for issue resolution in determining the effort estimation along with the work on future proposals.
- Drive solution discussion and resolve conflicts on solution design aspects as required.
Your Profile:
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Knowledgeable of Professional Services module implementation (greenfield or brownfield) in SAP public cloud.
- Experience with SAP Functional architecture.
- Skilled in SAP S4 HANA Public and Private.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
- Experience with SAP PS.
- Working knowledge of SAP SD.
