The Role: As an experienced SAP Technical Architect, you will support the organization’s business transformation journey to transition into a secure, modern, cloud-aligned SAP S/4HANA platform. The objective is to enable continuous transformation, operational agility, and AI-driven growth. The role is aligned with a decoupling strategy focused on establishing a clean core architecture, ensuring that the SAP S/4HANA system leverages standard SAP capabilities across key business domains, while minimizing customizations and technical debt. Overall, the role is pivotal in maintaining environment integrity, minimizing risks, and accelerating delivery timelines while aligning with enterprise governance, compliance standards, and the broader goal of building a future-ready, AI-enabled SAP platform.
Key responsibilities:
- An SAP MM (Materials Management) Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and optimizing the SAP procurement, inventory, and logistics solution landscape.
- The role combines deep SAP MM functional expertise with solution architecture, business process transformation, integration, and stakeholder management.
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP S/4HANA Materials Management solutions.
- Define procurement and inventory management architecture, ensure seamless integration with supply chain and finance processes, drive business transformation initiatives, and provide architectural governance across SAP programs while aligning technology solutions with enterprise business objectives.
Your Profile:
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Design end-to-end procurement and inventory management solutions using SAP MM.
- Define enterprise-wide material management architecture and standards.
- Analyze and redesign procurement and supply chain processes.
- Map business requirements to SAP capabilities.
- Lead ECC to S/4HANA migration initiatives.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis.
- Experience with warehouse processes (WM / basic EWM exposure).
- Knowledge of batch management, serial numbers, and inventory optimization.
- Exposure to LSMW / data upload tools for master and transactional data.
- Basic understanding of interfaces (IDoc, ALE) and integration concepts.
- Experience in reporting and analytics (basic SAP reports, queries).
- Exposure to automations or user exits / enhancements (coordination with ABAP team).
- Experience in retail or high-volume transaction environments.
- Understanding of GST / taxation processes (India or relevant geography).
- Exposure to ECC to S/4HANA transition or brownfield conversion projects.
- SAP certification in MM module (optional but preferred).
