The Role: As a Data Management Lead, you will be responsible for driving and embedding enterprise-wide data management and governance practices. You will act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, leading the implementation of data strategies, strengthening governance frameworks, and improving data quality and maturity across the organisation. In this role, you will combine data management consulting, business partnering, and performance tracking to ensure effective adoption of data policies, alignment with regulatory requirements, and delivery of measurable business outcomes.

Your responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert to drive data management practices across the organisation.
  • Partner with business domains to embed data management strategies, policies, and standards.
  • Own and maintain process documentation, ensuring compliance with data governance policies.
  • Promote data literacy, awareness, and adoption of data management best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data maturity and optimise business processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data quality and governance issues.
  • Support Data Owners and Data Stewards in implementing governance frameworks and controls.
  • Work closely with ISBE and Data Protection teams to ensure alignment with data protection requirements.
  • Track, monitor, and report data quality metrics, risks, and governance KPIs.
  • Represent Data Management in governance forums and contribute to decision-making processes.

Your Profile:

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Strong experience in data management, data governance, or related disciplines.
  • Deep understanding of data management frameworks such as DAMA, DCAM, or CDMC.
  • Proven experience implementing data governance, data quality, and data cataloguing solutions.
  • Experience driving data policy implementation and improving data quality in complex environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across business and technical teams.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Data Owners and Stewards in governance practices.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, classification, and governance controls.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes in cross-functional environments.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments.
  • Exposure to data governance operating models and transformation programmes.
  • Experience collaborating with security, risk, and data protection teams.
  • Familiarity with data literacy and training initiatives.
  • Ability to contribute to data strategy and governance roadmap discussions.
