The Role

You will be working for a customer who is the second largest manufacturer of Aero Engines for large commercial and business aviation. The primary role is to design and analyze Aero-engine Test and Measurement components according to customer standards and processes. Work will involve preparing design documentation, presenting designs in technical reviews, and more. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing and delivering Aero engine Instrumentation parts within a highly secure, data-sensitive civil or defense environment. You will work on complex, mission-critical programs that support national infrastructure and operational readiness, where reliability, security, and precision are paramount. You will lead the end-to-end design solution process, ensuring seamless integration across systems while maintaining strict adherence to security and compliance standards. Collaborating with cross-functional technical teams, stakeholders, and domain experts, you will transform business requirements into scalable, resilient, and future-proof solutions.

Your responsibilities:

  • Working in a team environment on Aero-engine component instrumentation design and documentation
  • End-to-end solution life cycle from requirements to final design
  • Instrumentation design solutions, verification & validation activities; resolving BOM and build issues; test schedule reporting; engine strip reporting
  • Preparing for design reviews
  • Requirements gathering and stakeholder connection
  • Liaising with customers and seeking required approval
  • Ensuring adherence to security, data protection, and regulatory standards, including working within restricted and controlled environments
  • Staying current with emerging technologies and best practices, continuously improving solution design and delivery approaches

Your profile:

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Fluency in written/spoken English
  • Good communication/presentation and teamwork skills
  • Good understanding of basic mechanical engineering with concept design, modeling and detail design, manufacturing, assembly, GD&T tolerance stack up, risk analysis, DFMEA interference check, manufacturing process and ASME standards
  • Aero engine instrumentation design and aerospace specifications knowledge
  • MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and computer skills
  • Knowledge in 3D modelling software/PLM such as NX and Teamcenter

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Experience working on Aero civil/defense sector NPI programs or with specific standards and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge in 3D modelling and analysis software such as NX, Catia V5, Hypermesh, ANSYS, Nastran/Patran, etc.
  • Aerospace and aero engine knowledge and design/stress experience
  • Electrical harness knowledge and wiring diagram, fluid system layouts
  • Experience working with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies in complex transformation programs
