Role: GE PowerOn Advantage Solution Consultant
Job Type: Permanent
Location: London, UK (Hybrid)
Number of hours: 40 hours per week β full time
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing of PoA functionalities.
- Network configuration of SCADA, DMS, OMS in PoA.
- Customer interactions and working in a multi-vendor environment.
- Arrange end-to-end solution for the deployment of the product from planning and engineering functions.
- Secure a smooth hand-over of the solution and resources to Operations.
- Prepare detailed documentation for GE ADMS upgrade and create roadmap accordingly.
- Leverage ADO technology for continuous deployment and integrations.
- Support the evaluation of potential new vendor partners, and develop partnerships with key vendors.
- Develop request for proposal documents and evaluate vendors.
- Configure and set up SOAP services and interfaces.
- Set up PoA application and database server, reports server, FEP server, Historian database, DPF (Dist Power Flow) application server, and Proxy server.
- Develop reports using Microsoft SQL Server Report Builder and deploy the reports to IS SQL Server reporting services.
- Bring servers into replication and test replication of various servers (Application Servers, Reports, and Proxy Servers).
- Use relevant utility experience to engage with client utilities to understand their specific applications, approaches and methodologies in Electric Distribution Operational systems.
- Apply appropriate methods or recognized equivalents to identified client needs.
- Anticipate and resolve technical problems with occasional technical assistance from others.
Your Profile β Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience:
- Solid experience in PowerOn Advantage application and deployment of its components.
- Configuration of SCADA, DMS, OMS in PoA.
- Detailed understanding of PoA architecture and its components.
- Knowledge of writing PL or SQL, Shell, PFL, and Perl scripts.
- Working experience with deployment of PoA systems in Power Utilities.
- Previous experience with system integration, working on multi-discipline projects.
- Work experience with different modules in PoA such as Group Tele Control, Automation, system tracing, Symbol Design, and Alarm Configurations.
- Experience in integrating PoA with OT applications like AMI, WFM, PI Historian and other corporate application systems.
- Capable of providing guidance in defining solution architecture considering integration of PoA with external systems.
- Knowledge of PoA cartography for network build.
- Good level of understanding of Windows and Linux server.
- Experience with IT and OT, and security standards (e.g., NERC CIP).
- Previous expertise in developing test plan, cases, acceptance and transition.
- Knowledge of and a working familiarity with current standards, and regulations governing power systems.
- Solid understanding of electric utility distribution planning, engineering and operations.
- Understanding of electricity generation, distributed generation, energy storage, and the controls associated with each.
- Utilize specialized utility system design and planning knowledge to produce moderately complex work products and solutions across engagements or multiple phases of a more complex engagement.
- Assess effectiveness of clientβs use of tools, applications, processes to adapt to new OT applications for solution areas such as DERMS/DRMS/ADMS/OMS/SCADA.
