Ready to utilize your experience and expertise in Supply Chain. We have an exciting role for you – Retail Supply Chain Consultant.

Careers at TCS: It means more. TCS is a purpose‑led transformation company, built on belief. We do not just help businesses to transform through technology. We support them in making a meaningful difference to the people and communities they serve - our clients include some of the biggest brands in the UK and worldwide. For you, it means more to make an impact that matters, through challenging projects which demand ambitious innovation and thought leadership.

The Role: As a Retail Supply Chain Consultant, you will support the design and delivery of supply chain improvement and transformation initiatives for retail clients across fashion, grocery, general merchandise and specialty retail. You will work hands‑on with client teams to diagnose issues, analyse data, design improvements and support implementation – ensuring supply chain decisions balance customer experience, cost‑to‑serve, working capital and operational feasibility.

Key responsibilities:
  • Deliver measurable improvement in retail supply chain performance by contributing to transformation programmes across demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, replenishment, ecommerce fulfilment and logistics/distribution efficiency.
  • Turn ambiguity into decision‑grade insight: assess current‑state performance, isolate root causes, and translate findings into clear recommendations and execution plans that clients can act on.
  • Build benefits cases that stand up to scrutiny — quantifying value, trade‑offs and feasibility so leaders can make confident calls on where to invest and what to change.
  • Own defined workstreams end‑to‑end (diagnostic → options → recommendation → plan), working day‑to‑day with supply chain, merchandising and operations teams to land outcomes in operational reality.
  • Make change implementable: support implementation planning, phasing and dependency management; contribute to governance, issue resolution and progress reporting to maintain pace and grip.
  • Elevate performance management by defining KPIs and operating rhythms that “stick” with operational teams and translate into sustained performance improvement.
  • Shape digital and tool enablement: support improvements to retail planning and supply chain tools and contribute to use cases that improve decision quality and speed.
  • Produce exceptional client‑ready outputs - crisp, structured and boardroom‑ready that inform real decisions and create trust in your work.
  • Build practice strength by codifying what works: contribute reusable approaches, diagnostics and “how we do it” assets so every engagement becomes easier, faster and higher impact.
  • Role‑model a high‑performance consulting culture: collaborative, low‑ego, reliable under pressure, and committed to raising the bar for yourself and those around you.
Your Profile:Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
  • Proven experience in retail supply chain, planning, logistics or operations, and/or management consulting in retail/consumer contexts.
  • Hands‑on exposure to at least one supply chain domain (e.g., forecasting, inventory, replenishment, logistics, fulfilment).
  • Evidence of supporting improvement / transformation initiatives and translating analysis into delivered change.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to structure ambiguous problems and work systematically.
  • Clear, concise communicator with operational and commercial stakeholders; able to make complex things simple.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis capability; comfortable working with retail data (sales, stock, forecast, logistics).
  • A pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset — you care about what changes on Monday morning, not just what looks good on slides.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
  • Experience contributing to tool enablement / analytics use cases that improve decision‑making in planning or operations.
  • Understanding of omnichannel fulfilment models (e.g., click & collect, ship from store, returns).
  • Interest in next‑generation decisioning (e.g., AI‑augmented recommendations and governed automation) as retail supply chains evolve.
