TCS provides engineering solutions and services for Aero Engine Control System and Software to a prominent customer who is a world leader in power and propulsion systems. TCS is looking for a Control System Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global, multi-disciplinary team.
As a Control System Engineer, you will be the owner of assigned control system functions and interfaces. You will be responsible for full life cycle development covering analysis, design, and verification of subsystems functions and interfaces. You will be responsible for technical outcomes delivery to appropriate standards and quality while working with a global engineering community to identify areas for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
This role will provide you:
- Opportunity to understand and experience the full system development life cycle process.

- Opportunity to gain experience and expertise working with customers and large global engineering teams.
- Opportunity to travel to Customer Site in Derby/Birmingham, subject to project design review/meetings.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop electronic control system requirements, design and verification work products for safety critical applications as per ARP4754 and appropriate guidance within DO-178B/C.
- Perform Sub-System requirement and interface definition, requirements allocation and traceability.
- Review engineering work products for technical documentation, quality, completeness and compliance to standards.
- Preparation of design review materials and participation in design review gates.
- Support the full Systems/Software development lifecycle.
- Exchange technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way.
- Promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement within their immediate project assignments.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Avionics or Electronics or Computer Engineering.
- To be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.K. Citizen.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
- 1+ years of product development experience from systems engineering view.
- Experience in the aerospace industry.
- Experience with requirement development tools (Doors/Capella) and design tools (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Experience interpreting test results and providing an informed opinion or conclusion as to the outcome of the analysis.
- Understanding of Model Based System Engineering concepts.
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – preferably V-model.
- Strong problem-solving skills, communication skills, and the ability to understand the level of analysis required.
