In this role, you will play a critical part in designing and delivering enterprise asset management solutions using IBM Maximo within a highly secure, data-sensitive defence environment. You will work on complex, mission-critical programmes that support national infrastructure and operational readiness, where reliability, security, and precision are paramount.
You will lead the end-to-end solution architecture, ensuring seamless integration across systems while maintaining strict adherence to security and compliance standards. Collaborating with cross-functional technical teams, stakeholders, and domain experts, you will transform business requirements into scalable, resilient, and future-proof solutions.

Key responsibilities:- Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of IBM Maximo solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and defence-specific compliance requirements.
- Define and implement secure, scalable, and resilient solution architectures within highly regulated, data-sensitive environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and technical teams to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Oversee system integration across enterprise platforms, ensuring seamless data flow while maintaining strict security and governance standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and delivery teams across the full project lifecycle.
- Ensure adherence to security, data protection, and regulatory standards, including working within restricted and controlled environments.
- Drive adoption of modern Maximo Application Suite (MAS) capabilities, including cloud, mobility, and predictive maintenance features.
- Review and optimise system performance, reliability, and scalability to support mission-critical defence operations.
- Support testing, deployment, and release management processes, ensuring high-quality and secure deliverables.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices, continuously improving solution design and delivery approaches.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Maximo / Maximo Application Suite (MAS) in architecting and delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
- Deep understanding of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) processes and asset lifecycle management.
- Proven experience working in highly secure, data-sensitive environments (e.g. defence, government, or regulated industries).
- Expertise in Maximo automation scripting (e.g. Jython, JavaScript) to customise workflows and business logic.
- Strong knowledge of database concepts, including data modelling, SQL, performance tuning, and data governance.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing REST and SOAP APIs, enabling secure and scalable system integrations.
- Experience in microservices-based architectures, including API design, orchestration, and integration patterns.
- Hands-on expertise with Maximo add-ons and extensions (e.g. Maximo Scheduler, Maximo Anywhere/Mobile, Spatial, Calibration, Industry Solutions), and their integration within MAS environments.
- Solid understanding of solution architecture and enterprise integration patterns, including middleware technologies.
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks, applying secure-by-design principles in restricted environments, with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working on defence sector programmes or with defence-specific standards and compliance requirements.
- Certifications in IBM Maximo, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), or architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF).
- Exposure to IoT, predictive maintenance, or advanced analytics within asset management ecosystems.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools in secure environments.
- Experience working with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies in complex transformation programmes.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java customization within a Maximo environment.
