The Role
As a Senior Java Engineer, you will design, develop, and support enterprise applications within a financial services environment. You will work across the full development lifecycle, contributing to scalable platform solutions, integration initiatives, and performance optimisation while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining Java‑based applications using modern frameworks and best practices.
- Performing code analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure application stability and performance.
- Supporting integration of applications across platforms, services, and enterprise systems.
- Contributing to design discussions and solution architecture decisions.
- Ensuring code quality through testing, review processes, and documentation.
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities.
- Collaborating with development, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience
- Proficiency in Java and enterprise application development.
- Familiarity with Spring Framework, including Spring MVC, AOP, IoC, Dependency Injection, JPA, and Hibernate.
- Understanding of Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Working knowledge of databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and Couchbase.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools such as Jenkins.
- Aware of tokenisation and cryptogram technologies in secure environments.
- Ability to work across development and integration activities within enterprise systems.
- Understanding of multithreading and advanced application design techniques.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as UNIX, SQL, or PL/SQL, and tools like Apache Cassandra.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks such as JUnit and system testing practices.
- Proficiency with version control tools such as Git.
- Familiarity with code quality tools such as Sonar and design patterns.
- Exposure to code optimisation and reuse practices.
- Aware of AI‑assisted coding tools.
