The role
A Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer (SQME) is responsible for ensuring that supplier-provided materials, components, and manufacturing processes meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement across quality and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct supplier audits to verify compliance with quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve supplier quality issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Monitor supplier performance using quality metrics, defect trends, and delivery performance indicators.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurring defects and improve process stability.
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and quality teams to maintain product quality.
- Support defect reduction initiatives and improve supplier process capability.
- Promote operational excellence across the supply chain through proactive supplier engagement.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience: Manufacturing process - Machining, Casting, forging
- Familiar with special processes such as.
- o Anodizing, Plating and Painting
- o Fluorescents penetrant inspection
- o Magnetic particles inspection
- Quality and Inspection Knowledge
- Should we be aware of AS9100, AS13100.
- Good Knowledge of Quality tools APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC and 8D.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Effective Communication and presentation skills
- Negotiation with Suppliers and Managing stakeholders
