The Role: As an AI Architect (Enterprise & Agentic Systems), you will define the AI architectural vision and shape the AI strategy and roadmap, ensuring that AI solutions are scalable, secure, well‑governed, and aligned to business outcomes. You will translate business opportunities into pragmatic AI architectures across data, models, platforms, and integrations, enabling reliable delivery at enterprise scale. Working within a collaborative community spanning data, engineering, security, and product, you will influence architectural decisions, guide best practices, and help deliver AI capabilities that provide measurable and sustainable value.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and own the enterprise AI architectural vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, well‑governed, and aligned with business outcomes.
- Architect and govern multi‑agent and agent‑swarm systems at enterprise scale, including safety, observability, reliability, and testing standards.
- Establish AI guardrails, governance frameworks, and responsible AI controls across platforms and delivery teams.
- Design and evolve enterprise‑scale distributed platforms with embedded AI and agentic capabilities.
- Lead AI lifecycle management covering model and agent selection, deployment, monitoring, versioning, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Drive transformation from traditional SDLC to AI‑native and agent‑augmented engineering practices.
- Integrate DevSecOps, SRE, observability, reliability engineering, and FinOps into a unified AI platform operating model.
- Act as the final authority on complex architecture and system design decisions.
- Partner with CTOs, senior leaders, and architecture heads to align AI initiatives with enterprise strategy and governance.
- Translate AI architecture into clear, measurable business value propositions.
- Mentor architects and senior engineers and strengthen AI‑first engineering culture across teams.
- Support RFPs, solution design, and executive‑level architecture discussions and workshops.
Your Profile:
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Very strong experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or platform engineering within large‑scale, complex environments.
- Proven track record designing and operating enterprise‑grade distributed systems at scale.
- Strong hands‑on experience with AI and GenAI platforms and agent‑based (agentic) architectures, including orchestration and governance patterns.
- Solid working knowledge of AI/ML and intelligent automation, applied pragmatically and safely at enterprise scale.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps and SRE practices, including reliability engineering, observability, security‑by‑design, and operational resilience.
- Experience defining and enforcing architectural standards, patterns, and governance frameworks.
- Proven ability to partner with CTOs, CIOs, and senior stakeholders to shape strategy and drive delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills at senior and executive levels.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments, bringing clarity and architectural leadership.
- Familiarity with retail technology ecosystems, including merchandising, supply chain, commerce, and customer data platforms.
- Experience defining AI capability maturity models and organisational uplift roadmaps.
- Strong interest in emerging technologies and continuous learning.
- Demonstrated ability to foster inclusive, collaborative engineering cultures that encourage innovation and disciplined execution.
