Dobbes Family Winery is seeking an enthusiastic, driven, friendly Hospitality Ambassador to represent our wines, our winery, and our welcoming culture. The ideal candidate will provide spirited and exceptional customer service for our club members, new visitors, industry peers, and trade partners. They will also educate guests on the unique qualities of our wines, history, philanthropy and culture. A service heart coupled with strong sales talent is a must, as is a sense of humor and commitment to teamwork. Our Dundee tasting room is open every day from 11am – 6pm, with occasional evening events. This is a full-time position requiring Friday thru Tuesday work days.
Job Duties- Greet and serve guests in the tasting room; educate guests about the company's wines, winery history, winemaking process, and wine country; answer guests' questions about wine.
- Create a memorable, welcoming experience for every guest.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of the company's wines, the winery, and the winemaking process in order to effectively advise and sell wine to guests.
- Host private tours and tastings as needed.
- Strive to meet team goals for wine sales, wine club acquisition, customer data capture, and other KPIs as set by the Tasting Room Manager.
- Assist in the development and execution of customer outreach plans across all communication channels, including RedChirp, email, and phone.
- Set up and clean up daily tasting room operations as needed.
- Handle routine sales transactions, including operating the cash register and accounting for daily sales.
- Monitor all customer-facing inboxes to respond to inquiries and process orders for food items or pairings tied to special reservations.
- Maintain displays and stocking of retail items and wines.
- Support the Shipping and Inventory Manager with packing and fulfilling orders, and assist with coordinating outbound shipments.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the tasting room neat and orderly for staff and guests.
- Participate in all onsite tasting room and wine club events; represent the company at offsite events as needed.
- Support outreach to local and Portland-area non-winery businesses to drive traffic to the tasting room.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of two years of related experience in the wine industry.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with minimal direction.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Basic math skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
- Intermediate working knowledge of winemaking equipment, processes, and procedures.
- Oregon Liquor Control Commission license required.
Position is hourly with $21/hour as the base wage; weekend availability and occasional events and holidays. 3 weeks PTO provided (plus Christmas thru New Year), 401K, health/vision/life insurance, wine allocation and Volunteer Paid Time Off.
