We are looking for a Tasting Room Associate to bring warmth, energy, and a genuine enthusiasm for wine and hospitality to the Hyland Estates Team. This position offers scheduling flexibility with an emphasis on consistent weekend availability, making it a great fit for those seeking part-time work or hands-on experience in a premium tasting room environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet and guide customers through wine flights and tours in an entertaining and educational manner with the aim of promoting sales and wine club memberships.
- Share the Hyland Estates story with confidence, including our history, vineyards, and winemaking philosophy.
- Capture guest information to support ongoing relationship building and outreach.
- Support private experiences, winery events, and occasional offsite activations.
- Maintain the tasting room environment, including stocking, polishing glassware, resetting spaces, and assisting with food preparation.
- Help pack wine club and online orders and prepare for pickups.
- Monitor inventory for tastings and retail sales and communicate restocking needs.
- Utilize POS systems to process purchases, shipments, and club enrollments.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hospitality experience, preferably in a tasting room.
- A strong interest in wine, hospitality, and creating meaningful guest experiences.
- Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to connect with a wide range of guests.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a dynamic environment.
- Comfortable presenting to both intimate groups and larger audiences.
- Familiarity with Commerce7 and Tock a must.
- OLCC and Food Handler Certifications.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods.
