At Taste the World Hospitality, we believe that great hospitality is more than service — it's storytelling. We are a growing collection of concept‑driven venues and brands, each built around the idea that every guest who walks through our doors deserves to feel something: surprised, delighted, transported, and genuinely cared for. From the moment of discovery to the final goodbye, we obsess over the details that turn a visit into a memory. Our venues aren't just places to eat and drink — they are experiences with a personality, a narrative, and a soul. We challenge the ordinary, embrace creativity, and hold ourselves to the belief that hospitality done right can genuinely change someone's day.
This is a role for someone who understands that the most important metric in hospitality isn't a margin or a cover count — it's whether the guest leaves wanting to come back. As General Manager across our venues in the Andover, Salisbury, Winchester and Southampton areas, you will be the person who sets the tone. You will lead proud teams, create environments where guests feel genuinely cared for, and take personal ownership of the experience your venue delivers — every shift, every service, every table.
Day‑to‑day, this means overseeing operations across one or more of our brands: managing rotas, training and developing your people, holding the standards high, and ensuring the financial foundations are solid enough to fund the experience we want to create. You will work closely with our central support teams on brand campaigns and operational initiatives, stay sharp on compliance, and handle the inevitable challenges of hospitality with composure and care. But above all, you will be an advocate for the guest. You will know your regulars, step onto the floor when it matters, spot the moment something isn't quite right and fix it before anyone has to ask. This is a full‑time, on‑site role — the kind where presence, passion, and personality make the difference.
What We're Looking For:
- Solid experience in hospitality operations — leading teams in restaurants, bars, or similar environments.
- A strong commercial mind — comfortable with budgets, cost control, forecasting, and the KPIs that tell the real story of a site's performance.
- Proven people leadership — you hire well, develop your team, have honest conversations, and build cultures where people want to stay.
- A calm head under pressure — guest escalations, operational curveballs, and busy services don't rattle you; they focus you.
- Confidence with systems — POS, reservations platforms, inventory tools, and basic office software are familiar ground.
- Clear, credible communication — whether you are writing to a guest, briefing a team, or working with central support, you land your message.
- Experience in multi‑site or concept hospitality is a real advantage, as is a background in launching or growing venues from the ground up.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays — this is hospitality, and the best moments happen when others are celebrating.
- A formal qualification in hospitality or business is welcome but far from essential.
What matters most is that you care — about your guests, your team, and the kind of experience Taste the World exists to create.
