A Sous Chef is required for this award-winning gastro inn located in a quaint town in the North Yorkshire countryside. This quaint county Inn oozes charm and is set within idyllic surroundings, they have 10 guest bedrooms and have an excellent reputation within the local area and is well known for its traditional British cuisine which has a modern twist and is put together using fresh locally sourced ingredients and is therefore extremely busy serving around 150 – 200 covers over the weekends.

There is a professional and talented brigade of 5 Chefs and they are now looking for a passionate and dedicated Sous Chef to join them. The right candidate must have experience in working with fresh food restaurants which are of a high standard and also have experience working in high volume establishments.

As Sous Chef you will:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing and leading a professional brigade and run the kitchen in his absence.
  • Be able to lead by example to ensure consistency is filtered throughout the team.
  • Have a firm but fair management approach as the restaurant needs a talented and professional Sous Chef to ensure the high expectations are met.
  • Be responsible for assisting in overseeing all aspects of this busy kitchen operation.
  • Ensure ongoing training and development is offered to all members of the team.
  • Have solid man management and kitchen management skills.
