We are recruiting a Prep Chef to join the kitchen team at a highly successful food-led pub on the North Norfolk coast, offering an excellent opportunity within a busy fresh food operation. This thriving venue is renowned for its quality food offering, welcoming atmosphere, and stunning coastal location. Popular with both locals and visitors, the restaurant serves up to 150 covers and operates at a consistently high volume throughout the year, particularly during peak holiday seasons. The kitchen focuses on producing fresh dishes using quality ingredients, with preparation and organisation playing a vital role in maintaining the smooth running of service.

As Prep Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring the kitchen is fully prepared for service, carrying out food preparation to a high standard and supporting the wider brigade in delivering a consistent food offering. This role would suit an experienced Kitchen Assistant, Commis Chef, Prep Chef, or someone looking to gain further experience within a professional fresh food kitchen.

Duties:

  • Prepare ingredients and mise en place for daily service
  • Assist with vegetable, meat, fish, and sauce preparation
  • Ensure all preparation is completed to the required standards
  • Support chefs across all sections of the kitchen
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and health and safety standards
  • Assist with stock rotation and organisation of deliveries
  • Keep preparation and storage areas clean and organised at all times

You will be hardworking, reliable, and organised, with a genuine interest in food and a willingness to learn. Previous experience within a professional kitchen environment would be advantageous, although attitude and enthusiasm are equally important.
