We are recruiting a Head Chef for an exciting new luxury hotel opening in Lancashire, offering a rare opportunity to take the lead in creating a brand-new kitchen operation from the ground up. Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role and candidates must have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Following a complete refurbishment and change of ownership, this established hotel is being transformed into a high-end destination with 51 bedrooms, a restaurant, coffee shop, events spaces, and spa facilities. The owners are investing heavily in the property, including the kitchen, and are looking for a Head Chef who can help establish the restaurant as a genuine destination in its own right.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Opportunity to build a kitchen operation from scratch
  • Significant investment in the hotel and kitchen
  • Full support from the owners
  • Opportunity to develop a high-quality restaurant operation
  • Temporary staff accommodation potentially available

The food concept will be centred around a high-quality à la carte menu, sitting somewhere between refined brasserie and fine dining. The focus will be on excellent ingredients, skilful cooking, and honest, beautifully presented food that is appropriate to the local area - ambitious without being pretentious.

As Head Chef, you will take the lead on developing the kitchen, working closely with the owners to establish the food offering and build a strong brigade ahead of opening. As Head Chef you will:

  • Develop and deliver the restaurant's new à la carte menu
  • Recruit, lead, and develop the kitchen team
  • Establish excellent standards across food quality and presentation
  • Manage kitchen operations, food costs, ordering, and stock control
  • Work closely with the wider hotel team to ensure a seamless opening
  • Help shape the kitchen layout, equipment, systems, and procedures
  • Drive consistency and standards as the restaurant develops
  • Play a key role in establishing the hotel's culinary identity

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to take the next step, with a background in high-quality restaurants or hotels. You will have the knowledge and ability to deliver food to a high standard and the creativity to develop a menu that could ultimately earn Rosette recognition.

This is not an opportunity to simply inherit an existing kitchen. You will have the backing and investment to create something from the ground up, with the owners prepared to invest in the right equipment and give the successful chef the support needed to deliver their vision.

If you're an ambitious chef who wants the opportunity to make your mark on a genuinely exciting new hotel opening, this could be an exceptional next step.

Due to the number of applicants received, unfortunately we are unable to reply individually to each. Should your application be suitable for the role, then you'll hear from us within 48 hours, thank you.
