With one of the most recognised brands in Western Europe in consulting, and several thousand consultants, the firm is global though has a 'small business' feel and mentality in the UK. ASAM is a £10-15m+ revenue segment and a growth target for management following work with a number of top asset managers over the past 5 years. The firm prides itself on a friendly, warm and engaging culture, very different to the 'corporate cultures' at many consulting firms. The firm is agile and flexible to respond to needs and, especially in the UK, people are highly visible in small teams.

The work is largely strategic, with small teams. Work tends to be CTO or COO sponsored and covers middle/back office, operations, strategy and outsourcing in the main. Projects tend to look at:

  • Operating model design/redesign and best practice
  • Broad front to back or operational transformations
  • End to end lifecycle of vendor / outsource partner strategy through to implementation
  • Data strategy, data and application architecture and artificial intelligence use cases in the sector
  • M&A support and execution within the sector
  • Retail and institutional distribution
  • Cost efficiency and operational excellence
  • Quality assurance for change programmes or getting the most out of spend on key initiatives
  • AI and use cases across customer strategy, operational improvement and processes/automation across ASAM businesses

Some examples of live programmes include:

  • Ideas generation for the Global COO of an asset manager on the structure of the business and which countries they could launch in next
  • Support for a major outsourcing deal across a 3 year picture
  • Remediation for a self-reported issue to the FCA; advice, strategy and remediation plans
  • AI strategy and use cases for a major asset manager across its customer operations

We are looking for:

  • A track record of delivering quality work in the asset and wealth management industry
  • Consulting experience and track record of delivering for clients of all shapes and sizes
  • SME knowledge in 1 or more areas of the asset and wealth industry
  • A record of building a network, either from scratch (BD/sales) or through exceptional client delivery
  • Someone comfortable dual hatting (50:50) between delivery and business building - we may also consider someone who is more 70-80% delivery focused
  • Someone who fits the friendly, inclusive culture that this firm has built painstakingly over the past 20 years

Salary range is 125-165K base; the firm will pay relevant to experience. Bonuses are very good here with average bonus of 25-30% with multipliers on top for personal and team performance; our last placement got 45% in their first year.
