Coordinate wellbeing and peer support to strengthen mental health, resilience and psychological safety for Ambulance Tasmania staff.

The Wellbeing Program Coordinator is vital in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of Ambulance Tasmania staff by leading the delivery of contemporary wellbeing programs across the service. This role ensures frontline responders, and those who support frontline services, have access to confidential, professional and peer-led support programs, helping to manage stress, reduce burnout, and foster a culture of psychological safety and wellbeing across the workforce.

The Wellbeing Program Coordinator is responsible for leading the development and delivery of all wellbeing programs across the service. This position provides an organisational focus on wellbeing, including mental health and physical wellbeing across Ambulance Tasmania and works collaboratively with wellbeing support areas within the Department of Health and the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management (DPFEM).

You will need to:

  • Lead the development and delivery of new wellbeing program initiatives to support the workforce at Ambulance Tasmania.
  • Manage existing wellbeing support programs and initiatives including the Wellbeing Support Peer and Grad Buddy programs and coordinate referrals and provision of professional psychology services with Wellbeing Support at DPFEM.
  • Research and provide sound advice to the Ambulance Tasmania Executive on new and existing programs, as well as contemporary mental health and wellbeing trends and initiatives in national and international emergency service agencies.
  • Provide leadership in the implementation of organisational and cultural change to positively impact wellbeing within Ambulance Tasmania.

Details of appointment: Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 31 July 2028. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
