Exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join the Department of Health!

The Team

The Hospital@home South service plays a vital role in the communities of Southern Tasmania. It offers hospital-avoidance interventions and both acute and subacute care for adults, ensuring safe, effective, multidisciplinary, hospital-level care within the community. The service operates across multiple sites throughout Southern Tasmania. Hospital@home: South satellite sites are currently located in Cambridge, Glenorchy, and Sorell.

The Role

The Registered Nurse – Community strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe, quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals within the defined community practice area.

Qualifications

  • Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures, and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (ANMB) National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence-based practice in the practice setting.
  • Ability to undertake patient/client education in the practice setting, together with a commitment to participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.

Details of appointment

Fixed term, part‑time, shift worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to ten (10) months. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439–$109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Salary Packaging

Access to a salary package and a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, plus other benefits if eligible.
