The team works collaboratively to ensure the safe preparation, handling, and delivery of nutritious meals that meet diverse dietary and clinical needs. With a strong focus on hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork, the Food Services team contributes directly to patient care and recovery in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

The team is located at the Cambridge Production Centre working with a team of cooks and food service officers. As a Food Services Officer, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of patients and staff across Tasmania’s public hospitals and health facilities.

The Role: As a Food Services Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of food preparation, production, ware‑washing, and cleaning in a healthcare setting. Your role ensures meals meet dietary, nutritional, and hygiene standards, supporting patient recovery and wellbeing. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team, maintaining food safety protocols, operating kitchen equipment, and contributing to a clean and efficient food service environment.

You will need:

  • Knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
  • Good communication and time management skills

Details of appointment: Multiple permanent full time, day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $57,130 to $62,486 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
