Location: As a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and in accordance with primary health care principles, the Diversional Therapist will:

  • Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of quality diversional therapy activities for a specified client group within a community health care setting.
  • Promote access and client involvement by participating in applicable community-based activities.

The Team: At Beaconsfield Multipurpose Service, you will be a part of a small, multidisciplinary rural team committed to person centred care across aged care, subacute and community services. You will work collaboratively within this close knit team to enhance the quality of life for residents and clients. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role: You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering person centred lifestyle and activity programs, supporting emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing.
  • Facilitating group and individual activities tailored to resident needs.
  • Encouraging community engagement and intergenerational connections.

You will need:

  • To deliver engaging, person centred lifestyle programs that support residents' social, emotional and cognitive wellbeing.
  • To work as part of a close knit multidisciplinary team in a supportive rural MPS environment.
  • To create meaningful connections through activities, community involvement and individualised care.

Details of appointment: Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 24 hours per fortnight, commencing from 6 July 2026. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $67,193 to $70,993 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
