NetSuite Systems Manager

Location: Remote (UK-based) | HQ: London | Travel: Occasional UK & international

Contract: Permanent | Function: Technology / Finance Systems

The opportunity

My client are a global financial services firm (HQ London) making their first NetSuite hire. You’ll own NetSuite end-to-end — architecture, customisation, integrations, controls and day-to-day operations — and set best practice from the ground up. This is a hands-on role combining technical (SuiteScript, integrations, data) and application (finance processes, reporting, controls) expertise.

What you’ll do

  • Own the platform: Define the NetSuite architecture, data model, environments, SDLC and release management (prod/sandbox strategy, SDF, version control).
  • Build & customise: Develop with SuiteScript 2.0/2.1 (UE/Client/Scheduled/Map-Reduce), SuiteFlow, SuiteBuilder, Advanced PDF, Saved Searches, SuiteAnalytics/SuiteQL.
  • Integrate the stack: Deliver/oversee integrations via SuiteTalk REST/SOAP, iPaaS (Celigo/Boomi/etc), and APIs to CRM/HRIS/expenses/banking/data warehouse/BI.
  • Establish best practice: Change control, documentation, code standards, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Partner with Finance & Ops: Translate requirements across GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Revenue/IFRS-15, multi-entity/multi-currency, intercompany, consolidation, and period close.
  • Controls & compliance: Design roles/permissions and SoD, audit trails, reconciliations; support internal/external audit (FCA-aware environment), GDPR/ISO27001 practices.
  • Roadmap & vendor mgmt: Create the NetSuite roadmap, manage partners, evaluate add-ons, own license/admin.
  • Support & scale: Provide L2/L3 support, train super-users, and (over time) build a small internal NetSuite capability.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven NetSuite ownership in a complex, multi-entity environment (ideally within financial services, fintech, PE/asset mgmt, insurance, or regulated sectors).
  • Strong hands-on NetSuite development (SuiteScript 2.x, Map/Reduce) and configuration skills, plus solid understanding of finance processes.
  • Experience designing integrations (SuiteTalk REST, webhooks, iPaaS) and data flows (master data, reference data, reconciliations).
  • Comfort with SDLC: SDF, Git, sandbox governance, CI/CD, automated testing where practical.
  • Clear track record setting standards/best practice and improving reliability, performance, and reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder skills; able to turn ambiguous business needs into pragmatic, secure solutions.
  • Bonus: experience with Revenue Recognition (ASC 606/IFRS 15), Consolidation, Treasury/Banking feeds, BI tooling (Power BI/Looker), and audit/SOX-style controls.

Why join

  • Greenfield ownership: First hire; shape the platform and build the function.
  • Global impact: Work with stakeholders across regions in a growing, tech-forward firm.
  • Flexibility: Fully remote with meaningful autonomy; occasional travel for workshops/implementations.

Package: Competitive + benefits (aligned to experience).

Right to work: Europe based able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

How to prepare for a job interview at Taskr

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
