Taskmaster is looking for a confident FLT Counterbalance Driver on an ongoing temporary basis for our client, based in Ashton-In-Makerfield.
Main responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure all safety checks are completed on Fork Lift Truck and relevant documentation completed at the start of your shift.
- Drive at a speed that is safe bearing in mind the type of load, surface conditions and surrounding environment at all times.
- Unload and load trailers within the timeframe set.
- Ensure weight distribution is consistent across decks and axles.
- Stack and distribute pallets in an efficient manner ensuring care is taken at all times.
- Operate consistently around Fork Lift Trucks.
- Report all damage that may occur to your Fork Lift Truck or pallets you are distributing.
- Observe site rules at all times.
- Carry out all your duties and responsibilities with reasonable care for your own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
- Co-operate fully in all matters of Health & Safety.
The company requests experience of both straight frame and double decker trailers with night experience. Please note you must hold an accredited licence no older than 3 years.
Requirements:
- You must have a RTITB or ITSSAR counterbalance licence refreshed within the last 3 years.
- Experience on the trucks.
- Be able to work on your own or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Have a keen eye for detail, be flexible, practical, hardworking and able to work under own initiative.
Shift pattern is Monday to Friday: 9.5hrs (unpaid break to be deducted) with start times from 18:00 to finish time up to 06:30. This position begins as a temporary assignment, with the possibility of longer-term employment for the right candidates.
