An established engineering company is currently seeking an experienced Manual Machine Operator to join its production team. This is a stable, long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on machining and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
The Role
You will be operating a range of manual machines to produce components from engineering drawings, working independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manual machinery, including centre lathes, vertical millers, radial arm drills, pedestal drills, band saws and associated hand tools
- Read and work from machining drawings
- Use measuring and inspection equipment to ensure quality
- Maintain machines and keep a clean, safe work area
- Assist with fitting and tooling work as required
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience with manual lathes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Good understanding of workshop health & safety
Whats On Offer
- Salary from £28k - £32k DOE
- Regular daytime hours with an early Friday finish
- Overtime available (1.5x standard rate, 2x Sundays/Bank Holidays)
- 20 days holiday, increasing to 25 with service
