An established engineering company is currently seeking an experienced Manual Machine Operator to join its production team. This is a stable, long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on machining and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Please note: Experience using a manual centre lathe is a must, as this will be where most of the machining is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce high-quality components to engineering drawings
  • Work independently to agreed timescales set by management or supervisors
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently, without unnecessary risk
  • Wear correct PPE at all times
  • Keep machines and work areas clean, tidy, and properly maintained
  • Contribute to continuous efficiency by identifying potential improvements through the 8D system
Skills & Competencies:
  • Ability to operate all listed machines efficiently and without supervision
  • Strong ability to read and interpret machining drawings
  • Competent in the use of measuring and test equipment
  • Capable of manufacturing jigs and tooling required to complete jobs
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and quality-focused
Working Hours:
  • Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am - 1:00pm
Benefits:
  • 20 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day per year up to a maximum of 25 days
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x standard rate and 2x standard rate on Sundays and Bank Holidays
