Taskmaster Resources Ltd are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician on behalf of our client, a fast-paced and growing manufacturing business. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of manufacturing equipment and site facilities. This is a hands-on role suited to a highly skilled technician who can work independently, respond effectively to breakdowns, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while minimising production downtime. You will also ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Working Hours
- Part-time: 30-35 hours per week
- Preferred shift: 07:30 - 18:00 (Includes two 30-minute lunch breaks per shift)
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), including inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and general upkeep of machinery and site systems
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Perform timely repairs and replacement of defective components
- Support production teams with equipment readiness, line changeovers, and setups
- Assist with installation, modification, and relocation of machinery to improve output
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and parts inventory
- Manage critical spares and contribute to maintenance reporting for daily operations meetings
- Attend daily production meetings to highlight priorities and ongoing issues
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and GMP standards
Experience & Qualifications
- Multi-skilled background (Mechanical & Electrical)
- Minimum 5 years experience in a Maintenance Technician (or similar) role within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Recognised qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
- IOSH Managing Safely certification

- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across multiple disciplines
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong focus on health & safety, quality, and compliance
- Practical, hands-on approach with attention to detail
- Ability to build effective working relationships across teams and with external contractors
Desirable
- Experience within the plastics extrusion industry
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, or TPM principles
- Experience supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to operate forklifts or scissor lifts
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects
