Taskmaster are currently looking to recruit a Washline Section Manager to join the expanding team of our well established client based in Lincoln (LN4). The role involves managing labour allocation, monitoring staff attendance and compliance, overseeing probation and development processes, and maintaining effective communication with various departments.
The responsibilities include:
- Ownership of the Wash Line process - conducting checks, monitoring performance data, and ensuring GMP compliance.
- Accountability for shift performance, requiring strong leadership to mentor and support team members, drive productivity, uphold site standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in line with business objectives and values.
- Ensuring area pre-shift checks are completed and escalating any work that is required.
- At the start of shift, following the agreed plan, ensuring the correct number of people are assigned to the right areas, dependent on production plans.
- Coordinating any labour replacements due to shortages between agencies to fulfil supply where required.
- Communicating with Planning, Technical and Senior Production Managers regarding the success of shift start.
- Conducting or coordinating RTW interviews to be completed on the first day back on shift prior to starting, monitoring department sickness, and escalating and reporting on trends.
- Regular checks should be completed at the start of shift and then periodically during the day (particularly after lunch or toilet breaks).
- Based on production plans, ensuring the right availability of boxes and coordinating the plan with the FLT drivers to maintain correct levels during the shift.
- Monitoring holidays closely, ensuring adequate cover is available prior to signing off.
- Updating the rota with the schedule and planned cover, and escalating any issues.
- Coordinating new starter probation periods between the HR team and Senior Production Managers.
- Working closely with QA team leaders and QA team to ensure the wash lines are optimising quality performance.
- Constantly performing visual inspections of the washlines and observing potential mechanical and program variances from standard on the lines, recording issues and faults, and liaising with the Senior Production Managers and Engineering to correct any issues found.
- Dealing with any issues immediately in order to maintain area target 95% and avoid non-conformances.
Computer skills including Excel and people management skills are essential.
