askmaster Resources is looking for a motivated Shunter driver to join our client based in the Doncaster area. If you take pride in maintaining high standards and enjoy working both independently and collaboratively, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
As a Shunter driver, you'll be a key player in ensuring our client site is well-maintained and running efficiently.
Your Role
- To direct and control the movement and positioning of lorries and other machinery on the site.
- To use hand signals, radios and other communication devices to relay instructions to drivers and operators.
- Ensuring that vehicles and equipment are correctly positioned for loading, unloading and for other operations.
- To signal lorries, general organisation of the yard and to move large products.
- Communicating effectively with Team Leaders and Management to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintaining a strong focus on Health & Safety, ensuring the well-being of yourself and your colleagues.
- Report any incidents or near misses promptly to management.
Skills:
- Proficient in English, with excellent verbal communication skills to convey instructions clearly.
- Ability to build rapport with team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Strong observational skills to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for site mobility.
- Previous experience as a Banksman or in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
Working hours:
- Days and Nights on a 2-day on, 2-day off basis.
- 2 Days 06:00 - 18:00 / 2 days off / 2 Days Nights 18:00 - 06:00.
Pay rate: £15.62 per hour.
