Quality Technician in Fife

Taskmaster Resources Ltd is currently recruiting for a Quality Technician to join a busy food manufacturing environment in Cowdenbeath . This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in food manufacturing, quality, technical or laboratory environments who is looking to develop their career within Quality Assurance and food safety. Working closely with the Quality Manager and Production Team , you will play an important role in maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, hygiene and compliance throughout the factory. Shift Pattern You will work a rotational shift pattern: Early Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm Back Shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm 40 hours per week £13.33 per hour Key Responsibilities As a Quality Technician, your duties will include: Testing incoming raw milk for all required attributes before offloading. Testing processing samples, including quark, cream, dressing and other products. Carrying out quality, chemistry and organoleptic testing of production samples within the on-site laboratory. Identifying, recording and escalating out-of-specification results. Carrying out additional testing where required. Conducting visual inspections and ATP swabbing following hygiene activities on food-contact equipment before production. Collecting and submitting food-contact and environmental swabs for external laboratory analysis. Organising production samples for external analysis in line with required schedules. Proactively monitoring factory environmental standards and carrying out additional swabbing where necessary. Completing daily and monthly Quality Technician checks and documentation to a consistently high standard. Carrying out internal audits, including glass and plastic, GMP and other relevant quality checks. Conducting daily taste panels and shelf-life assessments, evaluating finished products for taste, texture, aroma, appearance and overall quality. Identifying and reporting deviations from agreed Quality Assurance Standards (QAS). Working closely with Production to investigate and resolve quality issues. Monitoring general factory standards and raising concerns with the relevant Shift Manager. Supporting other reasonable duties as required by the business. About You The successful candidate will ideally have: Previous experience within food manufacturing, quality, technical or laboratory environments . Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and quality standards . Experience with laboratory testing and/or environmental swabbing is desirable. Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and record keeping. Confidence to identify, report and challenge quality issues when required. Strong communication and teamwork skills. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced food production environment . A proactive approach and commitment to maintaining high standards. The ability to follow procedures accurately and complete documentation to a high standard. Why Join Us?
